Hyena Head is the moniker of Orlando, FL photographer, Jason Clarke.

Jason brings a wide range of influences to his work which helps distinguish him from other photographers, lighting designers and Art Directors. Graduating from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Filmmaking, Jason uses his knowledge of cinematic lighting to create a textured atmosphere for his characters to live and play in. With a minor in Art History, he employs lighting and processing techniques taught by da Vinci, Rembrandt, and Vermeer. Jason’s fascination of cultures studied through art history allows him to recreate the feeling of specific time periods and representative stylings. His references to Italian horror can also be seen in his use of rich, saturated color, and skewed compositions. Jason, while at UCF, earned the credits of Art Director and Co-Director for the 2016 documentary film, Filthy Dreamers, which won the 2016 Student Emmy Award for Best Documentary. Jason has worked on dozens of short films, music videos, TV shows and several feature films with multiple festival wins.

Jason specializes in on location conceptual and non-traditional portraits, with a focus on capturing the characters within us all. With over 15 years of experience in theatre and film production, Jason excels at mixing lighting, environment and characters together to tell a cohesive photographic story his clients will never forget.

I want my clients to remember our sessions as a positive, fun and stress-free experience. I want them to leave knowing they’ve made their best choice in their investment with me. I’d like to think my clients leave feeling great about themselves and already excited about our next session.
